Brett Cain, Owner/General Manager

Brett started riding lessons at age 6, and showed her hunters on the A circuit for most of her teenage years. While thoroughbred racing has been the focus of the Cain family for many years, Brett’s first love was the show horses.

Brett has been managing Liberty Hill for 30+ years , and in 2001 took over as owner and general manager. She is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac) and registered nurse (RN) with experience in both orthopedics and emergency room nursing care.

She has worked with her father, Dr. Marvin Cain for many years affording her invaluable experience and exposure to the worlds’ top alternative specialists. In addition she has received training in equine massage and advanced training utilizing BioScan photon therapy.

DR. MARVIN CAIN

Dr. Marvin Cain graduated from Ohio State University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1955.

After years of successful practice in his small animal hospital in Ohio he became interested in alternatives to balance bodily functions in addition to the pharmaceuticals that lined his hospital shelves. He was first introduced to acupuncture in 1970 and received his certification in China and continued his studies in Korea and Japan.

In 1975 he co-founded the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). In 1987 the demand for his equine skills became so great he closed his small animal practice.

He has incorporated other modalities of therapy to complement “traditional medicine” into his successful equine practice where his clients have included Kentucky Derby and Breeder’s
Cup winners.

Dr. Cain is our “alternative medicine advisor”.
